Dr. Burns is a life-long resident of Macon. After graduating from Northeast High School, he received an Associate Degree in Science from Macon Junior College, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Georgia College and his D.M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry (’82). During his senior year at MCG, he received “The International College of Dentists Outstanding Achievement Award.” Dr. Burns has been in private practice in Macon since August of 1982. He is a member of the ADA, GDA, Central District Dental Society and Academy of General Dentistry (Fellow). In 2021, he received the GDA Certificate of Life Membership. He was a member of the Central District Peer Review and Ethics Committee (1998-2021) and the acting Chairman (2011-2021). He and his wife, Becky, have two daughters and three grandchildren. They are active members of Ingleside Baptist Church. When not in the office, Dr. Burns enjoys spending time with his family, Bible study, cutting grass on his tractor or zero-degree mower, and in November he gets very busy decorating his place for Christmas!
