Dr. James Cade graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1976 with a BA in Biology and received his dental degree (DDS) in 1979 from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences, College of Dentistry. After he attended a residency earning a Specialty Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from the Emory University School of Dentistry in 1982. From 1982 to 2006 Dr. Cade was a professor at the LSU School of Dentistry and practiced dentistry in New Orleans, LA. He left New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, serving six months with the Louisiana National Guard Hurricane Katrina relief effort, and then joined Honeycutt Family Dentistry in March 2006. He currently serves as a dental officer in the Tennessee National Guard with the rank of colonel and has over 35 years of military service with two deployments to Iraq and 5 missions to Central America. He now is a full-time faculty member and a department chair at the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, practicing part-time with Honeycutt Family Dentistry. Dr. Cade is a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine. Dr. Cade is married with four children and nine grandchildren.
