Dr. Stan Montee has enjoyed practicing general dentistry in the Middle Tennessee area for over 15 years. Following his graduation from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, he was accepted to an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with the US Army at Ft. Campbell, KY. The Dental Corps is responsible to ensure that soldiers are dentally ready and that they will not experience any dental emergencies while deployed overseas. Dr. Stan's residency took place at the height of the war and, at that time, the Army was focused on their dentists being trained to handle any dental situation while on their own in an austere environment. Therefore, his unique residency training focused on advanced oral surgery techniques to include impacted wisdom teeth and facial trauma. In 2005, he was deployed to Sinai, Egypt where he served as the Chief Dental Officer for the Army's multinational force overseeing 6 dentists from different nations. In 2008, Dr. Stan completed his service in the Army and he has continued using this unique dental skill set to provide advanced general dentistry and oral surgery services to his private practice patients in the Middle Tennessee area. Dr. Montee is a Fellow of both the Academy of General Dentistry and the American College of Dentists and a Master in the College of Sedation. Dr. Stan previously served on the Peer Review Committee for the Nashville Dental Society.
