Dr Emilio Canal, Jr.

Dr. Emilio Canal, Jr. completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami, Florida. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1990, where he received Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society Award for Excellence in Clinical Achievement. Dr. Canal serves as Team Dentist and Dental Consultant for the following organizations: U.S. Soccer Federation National Teams, D.C. United – Major League Soccer, Washington Spirit – National Women’s Soccer League, Old Glory DC – Major League Rugby, Loudoun United – United Soccer League, South Lakes High School, Oakton High School, National Women's Soccer League, McLEAN Youth Soccer. Dr. Canal has served as member of the U.S. Lacrosse Sports and Safety Committee and is on the U.S. Soccer Federation Medical Advisory Committee. He is a Fellow of the Academy for Sports Dentistry and was elected President of the Academy in 1999 and 2009. Dr. Canal also received the Distinguished Service Award from the Virginia Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association in 1999. He has been voted Top Dentist in Washingtonian Magazine, Washington Checkbook Magazine, Virginia Living Magazine and the Northern Virginia Magazine. His professional associations include: American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society, Academy for Sports Dentistry.
