Dr. Joseph Merai, born and raised in New York City, attended Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. After completing his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University of Connecticut, he returned to New York to complete his post-graduate training. The General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine provided advanced training within the entire spectrum of dentistry and emergent medicine. After completing his residency, Dr. Merai and his wife, Andrea, relocated to Salisbury where he joined the practice in July of 2015. They have since decided to make Salisbury their permanent home, and hopefully start their family here. Dr. Merai is currently pursuing his Fellowship within the Academy of General Dentistry and completion of the core curriculum of the Dawson Academy. He is the current President of the Eastern Shore Dental Society as well as serves as a delegate to the Maryland State Dental Association. In addition, he maintains active membership with the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Maryland State Dental Association, Eastern Shore Dental Society, the Salisbury Study Club, and Cambridge Study Club. Dr. Merai spends his free time with his wife frequenting the cinema and local breweries.
