Dr Kristen Forlano

Dr. Kristen Forlano was born and raised on Long Island, NY. Her passion for dentistry began at age 5. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and Anthropology from Fordham University in 2016. During her undergraduate career, she pursued the pre-dental track and served as the president of the Pre-Dental Society her senior year. In 2020, Dr. Kristen Forlano graduated from Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery. During her dental school education, she participated in the American Student Dental Association and attended several ADA District meetings. Dr. Kristen Forlano also participated in dental outreach including Give Kids A Smile hosted by the Nassau County and Suffolk County Dental Societies. As a student dentist, Dr. Kristen Forlano volunteered with World of Smiles to provide dental care to the children of the schools of Fundación Mission International Rescue and related orphanages in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Dr. Kristen Forlano moved onto to her General Practice Residency at Stony Brook University Hospital from 2020-2021. During her residency, she provided comprehensive dental care to the patients at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. She received training in the fundamentals of restorative, fixed and removable procedures. Dr. Kristen Forlano also received training in simple oral surgery procedures, including extractions and socket preservations, CAD/CAM technology, and Nitrous Oxide administration. At Stony Brook University Hospital, Dr. Kristen Forlano served as the general dental resident on call and worked to treat emergent patients with dental trauma, acute pain, and abscesses in the emergency room. Her residency training also included treating pediatric and special needs dental patient in the operating room at Stony Brook University Hospital. Dr. Kristen Forlano is proud to have received her dental training in Stony Brook with a foundation built upon evidence based research and strong clinical training. Dr. Kristen Forlano is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the New York Dental Association, and the Suffolk County Dental Society. She is a Certified Invisalign provider and pursuing Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry as well as the American College of Clear Aligners.
