Joel Stites was born and raised on a farm in Wauseau, Ohio. He graduated from The University of Toledo with a BA double major in Biology/Chemistry. He then attended Ohio State University, where he received his doctorate in Dental Surgery. Dr. Stites was awarded a scholarship from the United States Air Force. He spent one year as chief resident at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and then practiced at Moody Air Force Base as a captain for 2 1/2 years. After finishing his appointment with the military in 2003, Dr. Stites transitioned to Valdosta Dental Associates. He is married to Kristina Stites. Dr. Stites is an active member at First United Methodist Church and is the boys' basketball coach for Southland Christian School.
