Dr Ben Douglas

Ben is a proud Camberwell local who completed the Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne. Before joining Camberwell Dental Group as a dentist, he was a long-standing patient — a connection that shaped his deep appreciation for compassionate, community-focused care. During his studies, Ben was recognised for academic excellence, receiving the Lewis Prize for the highest marks in Periodontics and a place on the Dean’s Honours List. He was also awarded the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia Award of Excellence, reflecting his commitment to clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of dental disciplines. Ben is committed to ongoing professional development and has completed additional training in biomimetic dentistry — a modern approach that focuses on preserving and restoring teeth using techniques that mimic natural tooth structure. This philosophy supports his belief in conservative, long-lasting dental care. In addition to his work in private practice, Ben also serves the community through his role at Better Health Network in Prahran. Here, he provides care for some of Melbourne’s most vulnerable and medically complex patients, furthering his dedication to accessible and inclusive dentistry. Outside of dentistry, Ben has been actively involved with Hawthorn Boroondara Cricket Club for over 20 years and plays soccer for Swinburne FC. He’s also a passionate skier and a loyal supporter of the St Kilda Football Club.
