John Lucas is the sole director and ceramist of Intra Oral Technologies in Melbourne, Australia. His boutique laboratory situated in Malvern East specialises in complex implant, crown and bridge restorative work and aims to achieve the highest aesthetic outcomes. The laboratory incorporates a digital design and milling workflow for high accuracy and predictability. John completed his apprenticeship in 1983 at the Royal Melbourne Dental Hospital and won ‘Apprentice of the year’. In 1994 he completed a 2-year Diplomacy of Dental Science. He has been mentored by master technicians from Australia, Switzerland, Germany and Japan gaining valuable experience in the art of ceramics. John has been a Dental Ceramist for 33 years and works alongside some of the most respected clinicians in Melbourne and Canberra. His 28 years of experience with dental implants has allowed him to showcase his restorations to the highest standard. John is a Fellow of the prestigious International Team of Implantology (ITI). He has lectured nationally and internationally for Straumann, Australia and the ITI. He lectures to the post-graduate students at Melbourne University on an annual basis and is a member of the Brighton ITI Study Club.
