Dr. Shum attended Boston University for dental school as well as the AEGD residency program, and had been working on the west coast since graduating in 2013. He was awarded the Outstanding Achievement and Excellence Award in patient and practice management and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honours Society that promotes and recognizes scholarship and character among students of dentistry. Dr. Shum has always been in the healthcare field, and even worked as a paramedic for the ski patrol. Dr. Shum transitioned to dentistry as he wanted to stay in healthcare but be able to develop long-term relationships with patients. He enjoys providing personalized comprehensive dental care and working with his hands to give patients a healthy, confident smile. When he’s not at work, Dr. Shum enjoys the outdoors and loves exploring various hikes, lakes, and trails with his goldendoodle, who he absolutely adores. He likes food (a lot!) and enjoys cooking and trying various cuisines.
