Dr. James Chen grew up in Taiwan and lived in Japan for a year at the age of 10 before moving to Victoria when he was 15. He studied biochemistry and dentistry at the University of British Columbia and moved to the Comox Valley after graduating in 2016. Dr. Chen enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is trained in dental implants, Invisalign, botox, and infant laser frenectomies. Dr. Chen is President of the Upper Island Dental Society and enjoys traveling across Canada to give lectures about infant frenectomy. He also spends a significant amount of his free time taking continuing education to stay up-to-date with current dental knowledge and further improve his skills. Dr. Chen and his wife have 3 young children. He enjoys photography and traveling with the family in his spare time, and speaks Mandarin, Taiwanese, and small amount of Japanese.
