Dr. Filo is a lifelong Hamiltonian. He is a graduate in Honours Biochemistry from McMaster University and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto in 1984. He became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry in 1996 and completed postgraduate esthetic dentistry in 1997. He holds diplomate status in hypnosis in dentistry (2003) and multiple fellowships in hypnosis societies. Actively involved in the dental community as past president of Hamilton Academy of Dentistry, councillor of Ontario Dental Association, teacher of hypnosis internationally, and lecturer on laser dentistry. When not practising, involved in Scouting as Chief Health and Safety Officer.
