Dr Evelyn Elsey

Dr. Elsey’s academic journey began at the University of Western Ontario, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiology, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1978. Post-graduation, she relocated to Barrie, established her dental practice, found love, and started a family, welcoming three children over the next twelve years. In 1990, health issues led her to sell her practice and pivot towards a career in academia. This transition saw her enrolling in a two-year comprehensive dentistry program at the University of Toronto. During her tenure at the University of Toronto, Dr. Elsey dedicated seven years to emergency and oral diagnosis, while also earning a fellowship at the Academy of General Dentistry. In 1994, she resumed private practice, balancing this with a part-time role at the university. She continued this dual career path until 2007, when she sold her practice and began working part-time with Dr. Van Rassel, and now Dr. Mandal. Dr. Elsey’s commitment to continuous learning led to her achieving a Master’s in General Dentistry in 2009. Now, with more free time, she indulges in her love for travel with her husband, enjoys golfing and playing bridge, and cherishes moments spent with her expanding family of grandchildren.
