Dr. Nalia Gurgel earned her dental degree in 2003, completed a residency in implantology in 2006, and obtained a master’s degree in prosthodontics in 2010. Since 2006, she has focused her clinical practice on oral surgery, dental implants, and bone grafting. She moved to Ottawa in 2017 to pursue doctoral and post-doctoral training at the University of Ottawa, focusing on improving care for older adults and stroke survivors. In 2025, she joined the University of Manitoba as a professor. With over 20 years of experience in dentistry, Dr. Gurgel is pleased to join the team at Horizons Dental Care. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband and two teenage sons and stays active through biking and running.
