Dr Blaine Friesen

Dentistry has been a fascinating journey for me. I still remember setting up my first practice and knowing that I was exactly where I needed to be. I loved it! Every day I was eager to get to work. I wondered if the shine might rub off someday, but it never has. Even today one of my favourite pastimes is ‘geeking out’ on new procedures and new research. I like to be up-to-date on the latest thinking, and I am constantly seeking out continuing education experiences to have more options to provide my patients. The single greatest motivator in my career has always been the people. My patients truly feel like family to me and in some cases I am now treating the third generation. We feel part of the stories of their lives, and the loyalty they extend to us is a privilege that means a great deal to me. For me, engaging with patients means meeting them wherever they are in their dental health journey. We have the opportunity to provide optimal care and to make a difference in the lives of our patients and that is both exciting and important! We set the bar very high for how we do dentistry, and how we treat people. I couldn’t imagine doing it any other way. I have always said “the harder I work the luckier I get.” And right now, I truly feel blessed to have alongside me my long-term colleague and classmate, Dr. Cheetham, and a new and enthusiastic partner in Dr. Alport. It is also pretty special to have my son join the practice as well as Dr. Gorman and Dr. Weiss. Together we make a difference in people’s lives and we share a commitment and vision for patient care that is unmatched.
