I knew early on in my career planning that I wanted to be in a scientific and/or clinical field of some sort, but that I also wanted to help people. Having been in the chair too many times for my own liking, I can honestly say that I understand what it feels like to be the patient. I found my fit in a field where care and compassion are so very important. My career in dentistry provides me with the perfect combination of practicing science and compassion. I have the opportunity every day to make a difference and I find this to be extremely fulfilling. I graduated from the University of Alberta, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1990 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1992, and have been in practice in the Vancouver area since moving here 1992. After working in North Vancouver and Burnaby, I joined Dr. Ken French in 2000, settling in the downtown core. In 2011, I purchased this practice from Ken, becoming sole proprietor and re-naming it The Vital Smile. Ken and I still work together in the new space and have enjoyed a long and happy professional relationship. It is our personal commitment to strive to always be ahead of the curve in providing excellent comprehensive and compassionate patient care. I enjoy all aspects of dental practice and am always improving and educating myself with further courses in various aspects of clinical dentistry. I am currently working to complete the Level 5 Certificate Program in Smile Design at the Frontier Institute, the final clinical level required before a doctor can pursue instructor status with the Institute.
