Dr. Christine Collison B.Sc., M.A.S., D.D.S. Dr. Christine Collison grew up on the east coast of the United States and received her undergraduate degree in Biology in Baltimore, Maryland. During the next 8 years she worked as a research assistant studying animal behavior while pursuing a Masters Degree in Psych-Administration followed by her Doctorate in Dentistry. She was able to work in research while in dental school at the National institute of Dental Research located at the National Institute of Health, Bethesda Maryland and landed an academic job in the Pediatric department of the University of Maryland Dental School upon graduation. She worked one year as a Research Associate in the Pediatric department for Proctor and Gamble on a fluoride research study and as a part time instructor in Pediatric Dentistry before immigrating to Canada. Upon entering Canada, she spent one year working at the U.B.C. Dental school in the Pediatric department as a part time instructor and a Dental Resident at the U.B.C. hospital. Entering private practice, she was heavily influenced by her experiences in pediatric dentistry and created a child friendly atmosphere focusing on painless dentistry and fear management. She found that what works for children works for adults and has enjoyed converting the nervous adult throughout her career. In addition, she has participated in numerous study clubs including prosthodontics (Tucker fine gold), fixed and removable prosthodontics (dentures and partial dentures) endodontics and cosmetics.
