Dr. Funke Afolabi graduated from Dental School in Nigeria in 2004. She subsequently completed a 1-year rotating internship with 3 months each in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, Paedodontics and Orthodontics. She emigrated to the United Kingdom and went on to complete a one-year Vocational Training Equivalence Program with the London Deanery culminating in Full/Unrestricted Registration with the General Dental Council UK. She practiced General Dentistry within the National Health Service in London and Kent for 5 years. She relocated to Canada in 2013 with her family and took some time off dentistry to raise her young children. She was accepted into the University of Manitoba International Dental Degree Program in 2018, completing her Doctor of Medicine In Dentistry in 2021. She is very passionate about oral health and its impact on general health.
