Denturism Program

About This Course

A 2. 5-year intensive program that trains students to design, construct, and fit dentures, including complete, partial, and implant-supported dentures. Students learn to assess clients' mouths, take impressions, insert and fit dentures, perform relines and rebases, and fabricate mouth guards and bleaching trays.

Learning Outcomes

✓Assess a client's mouth and take an impression of their teeth and gums

✓Reline, rebase, and adjust dentures
✓Fabricate mouth guards and bleaching trays
✓Obtain complete medical and dental history of a patient
✓Perform complete visual oral examination and evaluation
✓Design comprehensive treatment plans
✓Take impressions of patient's oral cavity
✓Take necessary jaw relation records and select artificial teeth
✓Deliver dentures and perform adjunctive services
✓Apply current National Competency Profile for Denturists
✓Practice within Health Professions Act and CDO regulations
✓Design, fabricate, and maintain dental prostheses and oral devices
✓Collaborate with healthcare professionals
✓Apply management principles and skills
✓Demonstrate ethical professional behaviour
✓Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
