This radiography course studies the theoretical, legal, and practical applications involved in the exposure, processing, and handling of dental radiographs. Students practice various intra-oral radiographic techniques to produce radiographs of diagnostic value while learning to follow radiation safety protocol and processing procedures. The course covers identification of normal radiographic landmarks, recognition and solution of faulty radiographs, standard intraoral radiographic techniques, radiation hygiene measures, and provincial and federal regulations as well as client management.
Upon passing, students meet all requirements set out by the HARP Act and are qualified to take dental x-rays in the province of Ontario.
