About This Course

A unique hands-on comprehensive course aimed at improving skills in every step of the crowning process - from start to finish. Participants will experience a patient's journey from comprehensive assessment, specialised crown preparation techniques and making an ideal provisional, to a successful cementation outcome. The course features 50:50 of lectures and hands-on activities.

Learning Outcomes

✓Understand the risk factors for treatment and how to communicate these effectively to the patient
✓Identify different post and core systems and when to use each
✓Understand the critical steps of crowning including: tooth preparation, impression taking, provisionalisation and cementation
✓Understand the various classes of dental ceramic and indication on when to use each
✓Improve clinical competency via hands-on exercises in: crown preparation, taking 1-step and 2-step impressions, provisional crown

Course Curriculum

1.Comprehensive assessment of the patient to identify risks
2.Post and core indications and selection process
3.Crown preparation including PFM, FGC and all ceramic
4.Impression taking including both 1-step and 2-step techniques
5.The importance of making ideal provisionals, especially for anterior cases
6.Ceramic update to cover all common classes of ceramic material, indications and selection process
