Lucy offers a calm and gentle approach to her dentistry, and her bubbly personality puts her patients at ease. She was the proud winner of ‘Young Dentist of the Year 2016’ Award for the North West category. She has an interest in cosmetic dentistry and enjoys offering her patients a range of treatments including Invisalign braces. Interests: Keen ballet dancer and regularly attends her local academy of dance as well as spending time with friends and family.

Ulrike qualified from the Dental School of Leipzig University, Germany, in 2001. In 2006 she obtained her orthodontic specialist qualification from Hamburg University, Germany and was awarded a doctoral degree (PHD) from the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery of Leipzig University, German in 2008. Ulrike is on the General Dental Council’s specialist list in orthodontics. She is member of the European Aligner Society (EAS) and regularly attends their meetings, which take place all over Europe. Ulrike is an expert in fixed braces (Damon, self-ligating braces, ceramic braces) but her passion is Invisalign, as demonstrated by her amazing treatment results.

I have worked in Dentistry for over 30 years. From school I worked as a Dental Nurse, then in 1993 I gained a Diploma in Dental Hygiene from Liverpool Dental Hospital. I have worked in general practice in and around Manchester since then. I joined Walkden Dental in November 2018. Long standing member British Society Dental Hygiene and Therapy. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also like to play Golf and spend time walking in the countryside.

Rachel Gill

Rachel qualified as a dental hygienist and therapist in 2007 and has been part of the team at Walkden since 2008. She works well with all patients, but she particularly enjoys trying to help those with dental anxiety to feel more comfortable and involved with their dental treatment. Rachel is also a dental hygiene and therapy tutor at The Greater Manchester school for Dental Care Professionals. She is a member of the BSDHT and BADT and keeps up to date with her professional development. She enjoys travelling and spending time with her family. She is a keen bread baker.

I started my dental career in 2004 as a trainee dental nurse then graduated from The Greater Manchester School for Dental Care Professionals in 2012. Since then I completed a BSc (Hons) in Dental Studies at UCLan. I started working at Walkden Dental & Implant Clinic in early 2013 and I also work at another practice part time which is both mixed private and NHS, providing a range of treatments for both adults and children. Outside of work I like to try and keep fit and healthy by training at the gym and eating well, also spending time socialising with my family and friends.

Jennifer Yousaf

I am originally from Canada, moved to the UK in 2004. After qualifying in Canada as a dental assistant my passion was always to deliver oral health to patients. In 2005 I attended the Greater Manchester School for Professions Complementary to Dentistry gaining a diploma in dental hygiene (honours) and therapy. After working in both private, specialist and NHS settings I furthered my knowledge gaining a deeper understanding of the subjects earning a BSc (Hons) in Dental Studies from The University of Central Lancashire in 2013. My passion is treating patients with mild to severe periodontal disease (gum disease) while helping them learn the importance of improving and maintaining their oral health. In particular, I enjoy treating those patients who have not attended the dentist in many years for various reasons including fear and anxiety. Through a personalised treatment plan I can help patients improve their gum health. In my spare time she enjoys going on family holidays, running and scrapbooking.

Andrew Legg

Andrew Legg is a dentist with a special interest in oral surgery and dental implantology. He has worked at various practice over the last 15 years focusing on dental implants. He is also a co-founder of The Campbell Academy, a postgraduate implant teaching company. Andrew graduated from the University of Manchester in 2001 and completed his initial implant training at the University of Sheffield in 2005. Since then he has spent thousands of hours keeping up to date with the latest implant concepts. Andrew has a particular interest in all aspects of digital implant dentistry, full arch reconstruction with dental implants and has lectured locally and nationally on these subjects. Mr Legg is an ITI Fellow and sits on the current ITI UK and Ireland Leadership team as Education Delegate.

Simon Betts

Simon Betts was educated at St Ambrose School in Manchester. His interest in dentistry began after sustaining a dental injury during a school rugby game. Simon studied Dentistry at Liverpool University and qualified in 2011. Following qualification Simon undertook further training in general dental practices in Leeds and Hull. During this time Simon gained invaluable experience in general dental work and a special interest in aesthetic dentistry and treating anxious patients. Simon commenced work at The Walkden Dental Practice in 2016. He has very much enjoyed working at this practice which he has found to have excellent facilities and provide exceptionally good standards of dental care. Simon has undertaken a wide range of postgraduate training and carries out all aspects of general dentistry including emergency assessments, crowns, veneers, white fillings, root canal treatment, tooth whitening and clear ‘Invisalign’ braces. He endeavors to provide an excellent level of care for all his patients, with a friendly, calming manner. Away from the dental practice Simon continues to enjoy playing rugby for his local club and attending rugby fixtures at Sale Sharks. He likes keeping fit, competing in triathlons and going hill walking with his wife Bridie. In 2014 he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and in 2016 he completed an Ironman Triathlon with one of his brothers.

I have been at the Walkden Dental & Implant Clinic for twenty-four years joining in 1996. I enjoy all aspects of Family Dentistry particularly helping the younger members getting used to coming for their care. In my spare time I enjoy cooking and trying new styles although as time goes on I try and avoid anything too hot. I also like to keep fit and will be an eternal White-belt in Jujitsu. I love spending time with the Family which includes two lazy cats and a daft dog.

Nicola Shenton

Born in Manchester. Graduated: Leeds 2016 with Distinction. Nicola joined Walkden Dental & Implant Clinic in 2019. Nicola undertook further training in MaxilloFacial Surgery, Oral Surgery and Community/Special Care dentistry before moving to work in General Practice. She completed the MDFS post-graduate qualification with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. She enjoys the variety of different work that working in general dentistry offers. Her aim is to provide high quality work in a relaxing and calm environment incorporating each individual patient’s opinion and thoughts into their treatment plans. Interests: Triathlon, hiking, musical theatre and travelling.

Scott Singleton

I joined the team at Walkden Dental and Implant Clinic in 2022 after working as a General Dentist for over 10 years at a practice in Blackpool. Moving closer to home allows me to spend more time with my wife and two young daughters who are growing up very quickly! I enjoy being a General Dentist as I like to get to know my patients and fully understand their treatment goals. I find being able to provide a wide range of options allows me to give the best care possible. I understand that for some people a visit to the dentist can be daunting and I hope that my relaxed and friendly approach helps to put people at ease. Away from work I love spending time with my family. Most evenings and weekends seem to be dedicated to some sort of kids after school club, class, lesson, society, party etc! I also try to keep myself active and regularly go swimming and running and take part in the occasional charity event. I am also a devoted Blackpool FC fan and go and watch them play whenever I get the chance.

Jane Whittle

Born in Preston Graduated: Newcastle 2004. Joined WDP: 2014 Completed general professional training in the North East area, gaining Membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgeons at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh during this time. Went on to become a Senior House Officer in Maxillofacial Surgery in Sunderland Royal Hospital. Moved into general practice, and has worked in Preston and Chorley. Regularly attends courses and keeps up to date by reading journals, therefore continuing to expand knowledge base. Member of the British Dental Association Interests include: running, swimming, going to the gym and attempting to play golf. Has run the Manchester 10k for the past few years, raising money for charity.
