Byron graduated with his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2013. He is registered with the New Zealand Dental Council in the scope of General Dental Practice. He worked in private practice in Dunedin for five years and relocated to Wellington in 2019. He has been working at Naenae Dental Clinic before joining the Hutt Dental Hub. Byron is a member of the Institute of Digital Dentistry. Digital dentistry is the future of dentistry. This involves 3D scanning of the teeth and fabricating custom-made crowns, bridges, and implant-retained prosthetics. Byron is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association and attends meetings at the Wellington branch. He has previously filled the role of Secretary/Treasurer at the Otago Branch and been the Otago representative of the Young Dentist Action Group. Byron is a keen mountain biker and can often be found on the trails in the evening and weekend. He enjoys working with his hands, maintaining his bikes, and stone carving with Oamaru limestone.
