Dr. Gower has been fortunate to call South Carolina home all of his life. He grew up in Florence, SC and completed his undergraduate studies in 2005 at the University of South Carolina in Columbia where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Gower attended dental school in the Lowcountry, where he received his D.M.D. degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2011. Dr. Gower also met his beautiful wife, Jessica, during his time in Charleston and they were married one week before his graduation from MUSC in her hometown of Columbia. In 2010, Dr. Gower went on a dental mission trip with Dental Community Fellowship to Burundi, Africa where the team spent sixteen days performing dental extractions in local school houses. This trip was a life changing experience for Dr. Gower and has left him with a strong calling to serve. Beginning in 2011, Dr. Gower served in the Navy for 5 years. He completed a one year residency program called an Advanced Education in General Dentistry, where he trained alongside some incredible specialists to advance his skill-sets in oral surgery, implants, root canals, and larger crown and esthetic veneer cases. He felt honored to serve the dental needs of the Marines at Camp Lejeune, MCAS Beaufort and Parris Island. In 2015, he trained at the comprehensive Maxi Implant Course at Georgia Regents University, gaining invaluable experience in hands-on dental implant surgery throughout the year. If he’s not working, you can find Dr. Gower on the water. Living by the coast for the last decade, he has developed a healthy passion for offshore fishing. He and his wife, Jessica share a common interest of being on the water and pulling for their favorite college football team. They recently had their first child, Lula, and also have a loving 14 year old black lab named Ace.
