Dr. Gartner has been in private practice periodontics since 1986. He received his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in 1979, Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loyola Dental School in 1983 and a Master of Science in Periodontics from the University of Michigan Dental School in 1986. Dr. Gartner was an instructor at Loyola Dental School until it closed in 1993. The current emphasis in periodontics is on its relationship and connection to many chronic systemic diseases, including heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, certain cancers and a number of other chronic conditions. Dr. Gartner’s philosophy is to help his patients avoid such consequences of periodontal disease and instead achieve optimal health and esthetics. “I work closely with a patient’s general dentist to work out a customized treatment plan for each case. Teamwork and communication are the keys to success,” he says. “Today, hard and soft tissue grafting for cosmetics and dental implants to restore the mouth are the current focus in periodontal care, along with keeping one’s teeth and gums healthy.” Dr. Gartner has doing implants for over 25 years! As a One of the leaders in Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Gartner is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, the American Academy of Periodontology, Midwest Society of Periodontists, Illinois Society of Periodontists and Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity.
