Dr. Catherine Shiau completed her undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a minor in music. After an exciting year, teaching English in Taipei, Taiwan, she attended Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and then attended a residency in general dentistry at the Montefiore Medical Center where she gained advanced training in endodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and oral surgery. Dr. Shiau enjoys keeping up with modern methods and technologies in the field of dentistry. She aims to give her patients a streamlined and personalised experience. She believes in a comprehensive approach to treatment and understanding her patients' needs to determine the treatment best suited for them. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the New Jersey State Dental Association. Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Shiau currently lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. In her free time she enjoys playing board games, baking new recipes, and consuming all kinds of murder mystery content. One of her goals is to visit all 63 National Parks in the United States.
