Dr. Scott Francis is a Hampton native and a graduate of the University of Richmond and the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. After dental school, Dr. Francis joined the United States Navy, serving 6 years on active duty. During this time, he spent one year in a General Practice Residency (at Portsmouth Naval Hospital). Dr. Francis has been in the private practice of dentistry since 1991, and he believes in giving back to his profession. He has served as President of the local Peninsula Dental Society and on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Dental Association. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Peninsula Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry, and has been named a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (F.A.G.D.), the Virginia Dental Association, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Francis has participated in numerous VDA Mission of Mercy projects and has also contributed services to the community through the VDA Donated Dental Services project. He strongly believes in the value of life-long learning through continuing education.
