Dr. Tempel earned his Bachelor's degree in General Arts and Sciences from Penn State University in 1990. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry in 1994. He completed a General Practice Residency followed by a four year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the U.S. Army. Dr. Tempel had a distinguished 12 year Army career during which he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, served in the Special Forces, and earned the Bronze Star while serving as a surgeon in Afghanistan. He taught oral surgery residents for four years before leaving the Army with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Tempel joined the practice in 2006 and resides in Gettysburg with his wife and two sons.
