Dr. Romo completed his dental degree in Spain. During his fourth year of dental school, he received a European Union scholarship that allowed him to spend one year in Portugal at one of the leading dental schools in Europe. After working in the UK for a year, he was admitted to New York University College of Dentistry, where he completed a clinical fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a strong focus on implant surgery and bone grafting. He later practiced as a general dentist in Connecticut and Florida, but his passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery led him to pursue further training. After being accepted into a one-year internship at the University of Maryland Medical Center, he was granted the opportunity to complete the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program there. He graduated in 2021. Dr. Romo has a strong interest in new implant surgery technologies, including full-arch rehabilitation, bone grafting, dentoalveolar surgery, anaesthesia, and oral pathology.
