Dr. Curtin knew at an early age that he would choose a career in dentistry. Having grown up the son of a dentist, it seemed the natural choice to make. Dr. Curtin graduated from St John's Prep, received a B.S. in Biology from Providence College and went on to earn his D.M.D. from Boston University's Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry. After graduating from Dental School, he decided to further his education by completing a General Practice Residency at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Although he enjoyed his time in Philadelphia, he was glad to return to the North Shore and begin his career in private practice. Dr. Curtin spent several years as an associate dentist at West Somerville Dental Associates and Dr. Patrick Curtin D.D.S. in Salem, MA. In March of 1999, Dr. Curtin felt it was time to go out on his own and he purchased the practice of Dr. John Carbone D.D.S. here in Ipswich. Having spent time in Ipswich when he was growing up, made him realise that Ipswich would be the perfect town to own a dental practice. Dr. Curtin has always been interested in the modern technology that is available to today's practitioners. He has worked hard to make sure that he and his staff stay well educated to be able to provide the latest advancements for his patients. He has been fortunate enough to take CE courses at The Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, AZ, and the Montana Center for Laser Dentistry in Whitefish, Montana. He enjoys seeing how excited his patients get when they see the advantages of modern dentistry. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. He is an avid golfer, enjoys skiing, playing racquetball, and riding motorcycles.
