Dr. Sun received his B.D.S. in 1983 from Dental Department at Xi'an Jiao-Tu University, and his M.S. in Dental and Biological Materials in 1986 from Shanghai Jiao-Tu University. After his graduation, Dr. Sun taught, led the research and conducted clinical practice at School of Dentistry, Shanghai Jiao-Tu University. In 1991, he moved to the United States for further study in dentistry. From 1991 to 1996, Dr. Sun was involved in the research in the fields of dental materials, biomaterials and biology of the mineralized tissues at School of Dentistry, the University of Michigan, and had several publications on the journals of those fields. Dr. Sun received his M.S. in Dental Materials in 1996 and D.D.S. in 1999 from the University of Michigan. He taught Prosthodontics as a clinical adjunct assistant professor at School of Dentistry, the University of Michigan from 1999 to 2003. During the same period, Dr. Sun received multiple awards for his outstanding work, including the First Place in the Procter & Gamble Ohio Valley Region Dental Research Competition, the Floyd A Peyton for Dental Materials, and the Francis B. Vedder Society of Crown and Bridge Prosthedontics. Dr. Sun has been practicing general dentistry in Southeastern Michigan since 1999. He's a member of American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association and Washtenaw District Dental Society.
