Dr. Messenger, a native of Rome, New York, has been serving North Adams, Massachusetts, in Berkshire County and the surrounding communities since 1993. Dr. Messenger received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Harding University in 1987. He then graduated from the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 1991 and is certified by the American Dental Association and belongs to the FACCD. He specializes in CAD-CAM, lasers, implants, and cosmetic dentistry. In January of 2014, Dr. Messenger became certified in Botox, Dermal Fill, and Micro Threading. Dr. Messenger has been using CEREC for over 20 years. He is on the faculty of CEREC Doctors, Implant Seminars, and visiting faculty for Spear Educational Center. He teaches doctors how to use CAD-CAM dentistry, how to place bone grafts, implants, and perform sinus lifts with hands-on learning. To keep current with the ever-changing world of dentistry, Dr. Messenger obtains about 300 hours of continuing education a year. This includes advanced classes in CEREC, implants, and lasers. He also takes his entire staff to educational meetings and conferences to give them the tools they need to provide optimal care to patients. In March 2014, Dr. Messenger received his diplomate status from the International Dental Implant Association (IDIA). The diplomate status symbolizes the highest level of competence in implant dentistry. Acceptance into IDIA requires completion of at least 350 continuing education hours in dental theory training, passing a written examination, and successful placement of 300 dental implants on live patients. Certification attests to the fact that he has demonstrated knowledge, ability, and proficiency in implant dentistry through a rigorous examination process. Dr. Messenger has placed over 5,000 implants. He is dedicated to furthering his education on implants and continues to take implant courses on advanced bone grafting procedures focusing on ridge augmentations and advanced sinus lifts. Dr. Messenger went on a several missionary trips from 2014-2019 to the Dominican Republic where he placed advanced implants and bone grafting surgeries. Now, he visits at least twice a year and helped them to open a dental school by asking large dental companies to donate equipment. Dr. Messenger is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, Berkshire Dental Society, International College of Oral Implantologists, World Clinical Laser Institute, and in the past has served as the vice president of the Academy of CAD-CAM Dentistry. He is currently in pursuit of a Master of Science in Oral Implantology at Goethe University in Germany.
