Dr. Richard A. Rasmussen III is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology whose background and credentials reflect his commitment to the highest standards of patient care, treatment innovation, and leadership within his specialty. A native of Tampa, Florida, Dr. Rasmussen graduated from Jesuit High School and went on to study at the University of Florida where he graduated Cum Laude with research distinction. He attended Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, graduating at the top of his class and honored with membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Rasmussen completed residency training in Periodontology at the University of Florida, Shands Hospital, receiving a Master’s Degree in Dental Sciences and certification in Intravenous Conscious Sedation. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Periodontology, and Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Rasmussen leads the Rasmussen Spear Study Club, provides lectures, and has published articles in periodontal and implant journals.
