Dr. Whitney is a graduate of McDaniel College and a graduate of Maryland Dental School. He has served the Hampstead community practicing dentistry for over 30 years. His time is now divided between his dental practice and serving on the Dean's Faculty at the University of Maryland Dental school teaching in the field of preclinical fixed prosthodontics. Dr. Whitney worked with the Carroll County Health Department to start a fluoride rinse program throughout the schools. He worked with the PTA to go over the fluoride rinse program and he is a participant in the Carroll County Access Program. He has been the Maryland Chairman for The American Fund for Dental Health, Vice President of the Maryland State Dental Association, and member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (a dental honor society chosen by dentists) since 2002. He also helped form the Carroll County Dentist Society and served as the first president. He was on The Board of Governors of Maryland State Dental Association, Board of Trustees (6 years) and House of Delegates (15 years) and has been inducted into The International College of Dentistry, an international dental honor society. Dr. Whitney and his wife Carolyn have two children, Dinyee and Larry, and three grandchildren. Their life activities revolve around their faith, family, and friends.
