Dr. Vilija Mickute (Vi-li-ya Mits-koo-teh) was born in Lithuania and moved to the United States as a child. She received her bachelor’s degree in the Russian language and business from Georgetown University. She then went on to the University of Maryland School of Dentistry where she graduated first in her class, summa cum laude. She was also honored by being inducted into the Phi Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor's Society, Gorgas Odontological Society, and the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society. Afterward she completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency also at the University of Maryland. During her residency she was awarded the Harry W.F. Dressel, Jr. Award for being the top resident in her class. Providing robotic treatment has never been in her routine while dealing with people on such an intimate level. Her treatment of patients has always been accompanied by compassion and a constant attempt to have a thorough understanding of each individual’s needs. Dr. Mickute keeps up to date with the most current guidelines and technology in dentistry. She is a member of American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Maryland State Dental Association, and Carroll County Dental Society. She and her husband live in Sykesville with their two kids and mini doxen. She takes pleasure in traveling, especially to visit her family and childhood home in Lithuania. “I have always wanted to be a dentist, I could not imagine doing anything else with my life.”
