Henk attended the University of Pretoria from 1980 to 1987, attaining the Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Science degree (BChD). He opened a bespoke private dental practice in South Africa in 1990 and was one of the first dentists to use CEREC® Cad/Cam computer technology to design and restore teeth with ceramic porcelain. Henk trained in the USA, Switzerland and Sweden in the implant field with a special interest in aesthetic and reconstructive implant dentistry linked with orthodontics. Henk gained postgraduate qualifications (PDD Clin Dent) in 1999 at the University of Stellenbosch and a Master’s Degree in Dental Implantology (MSC) at the University of Warwick in 2006. He also attended the Pankey Institute (Florida) from 2001-2005 and is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI). Henk is a certified Invisalign practitioner. Henk’s interests include travel, live music, opera, fine dining and wine, skiing, and golf—he is a member of Walton Heath Golf Club. He also holds a private pilot’s license and is a passionate amateur photographer and sculptor.
