Sophie graduated from Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2011 with Honours. After completing her vocational training, she held many London hospital positions including roles at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, St George’s Hospital and Kingston Hospital. During this time, she gained clinical experience across many dental specialties including maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics and paediatric dentistry. Sophie completed her paediatric dentistry specialist training at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill and King’s College Hospital, London and was registered as a Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry by the General Dental Council in 2017. She completed her consultant training in sites across London, Surrey and Sussex including roles within the Community Dental Service, West Sussex, the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, Brighton, and Chailey Heritage Foundation for children and young people with complex disabilities, Lewes. She received her Fellowship in Paediatric Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2020. In 2020 Sophie was appointed as a Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill. Her special interests include dental trauma, anxiety management and management of children with additional needs. Sophie is an educational supervisor to trainees in paediatric dentistry and enjoys the teaching element of her Consultant role. Sophie has been an active member of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry since 2015 and has held many roles within the South East Branch and Trainees Group. Sophie enjoys Crossfit and participates in local community projects.
